13-year Оld Shelter Cat Gets Аdopted, Can’t Fall Аsleep Unless His Нuman Holds His Paw

A 13-year-old orange cat in Australia, Jamie, is considered an elderly cat among cats.

He ended up in a shelter after his owner moved into a nursing home and couldn’t take him with her.

The cat had bad teeth and kidney problems.

Although the staff of the shelter wants to help it find a new home, it is really too difficult…

Then, a young woman, Sarah Dempsey showed up, who had originally wanted to adopt a kitten.

Fate is so wonderful,  Jamie seems to have sensed something, when Dempsey bent down to look at him, he was sleeping and suddenly woke up.

“He clearly wanted some pats… I knew he’d rescue me from feeling alone, and I’d do the same for him.” Dempsey said.

He jumped into Dempsey’s arms when the staff opened the cage to let her touch him.

Therefore, she liked the cat so much that she immediately adopted him—an old cat.

The cat went home with the woman and quickly adapted to life in the new home.

Jamie has a very good personality, he is very gentle and clingy.

The 13-year-old cat won’t go to sleep until his new mom holds his paw.

Later, Dempsey discovered that the cat had a little habit.

Before he goes to bed, he always asks her to hold his little hand. The cat won’t even sleep if his new mom isn’t holding his paw.

“If I let go he wakes up, meows, and claws my hand back to him,” Dempsey said.

The insecurity of the cat makes the woman feel very sad.

He is probably afraid that he will be abandoned again.

Dempsey vowed that she would take good care of the cat in the future and give it eternal love.

Dempsey also wants to tell everyone that it is not necessary to choose kittens when adopting.

Big cats and old cats are very cute.

You may take a look, maybe the big cats or old cats are more suitable for you.
