Parents aren’t just the ones who give birth to you. They can also be people who take care of you like your own mom or dad. This can happen in the animal world too, where an adoptive parent doesn’t have to be the same species. A story from Iraq shows this.
Goran Surchi is a Kurdish farmer and soldier. One day, he found something surprising in his chicken coop. When Goran heard meowing from the coop, he went to check what was happening.
He thought the chickens were in danger, but he was shocked to find out the sounds came from under the chicken. He lifted the chicken and saw the three cute kittens.
A chicken had taken care of three orphaned kittens whose mother had died. The chicken made sure the kittens got the love and attention they needed.
