Cat Finds A Scent He Thought He’d Never Smell Again And Is Heartbroken By It.

Months have passed since Zeus the cat bid a fond farewell to his deceased companion Sam the dog. However, the bereaved cat still harbors a deep affection for his longtime canine friend.

And that has recently become very evident.

On the surface, the relationship between Zeus and Sam may not have seemed too atypical for a cat and a dog living under the same roof.

But despite the contrasts in their species and temperaments, a bond formed between them – even though they expressed it in different ways.

Sadly, their time together couldn’t last forever since Sam’s passing two months prior had a profound impact on the cat’s heart.

After Sam’s death, Zeus seemed quite lonely.  “He spent more time following my mum around during the day, and when he passed away, he meowed a lot like he was hunting for him. When my mother came into the room the day Sam passed away, he was wrapped in a blanket and Zeus was lying on top of him as if he’d finally had a chance to cuddle him.”

Even though Sam was gone, Zeus managed to get in touch with him this week.

Since the dog’s passing, Catanzarite’s brother had kept his old collar on a bookshelf in his room. The other day, Zeus found it — and his heart seemed to swell.

It’s impossible to say for sure if simply smelling Sam again was enough to mend his heart, but it certainly appeared that way.

He seemed so happy when he found it.

Nothing will ever be able to bring Sam back in physical form, but his soul and fragrance will always be present, and Zeus now knows where to go for them.
