Kids can be mischievous, and this holds true for a lucky toddler in Bucaramanga, Colombia. Thankfully, he has a vigilant protector: his family cat.
One day, the 1-year-old boy wants to peek over the balcony railing of his apartment. His cat companion sits nearby, observing the view. Unaware of what’s happening, the curious toddler tries to grab the railing to climb up. But his feline babysitter knows better and takes action.
When the cat sees the toddler’s intentions, he gently swats the little boy’s hand away. However, the determined child moves away from the cat and tries again.
The cat intervenes, reaching over to unhook the child’s hand and position himself in front of the ledge, blocking any further attempts.
This whole incident was captured on camera by someone nearby. Thankfully, the child was never in real danger as the balcony was secured with a safety mesh. Nevertheless, the brave cat truly deserves the “Best Babysitter of the Year” award.
