Veterinarian Ogün Öztürk visited Düzpelit village in Ordu, Turkey to treat a cow.
Before leaving, he noticed a girl trekking through the snow with a puppy on her back. That’s how their friendship began.
The girl, Cemre Su Türköz, couldn’t reach the district center due to heavy snowfall, so she carried her itching dog, Pamuk, to find a vet.
Hearing about a vet in town, she walked over a mile of snowy mountain roads to meet Ogün. Cemre explained her situation, and Ogün examined Pamuk, finding a minor issue that could be treated with topical medication.
Ogün was amazed by Cemre’s bravery and refused payment, becoming friends with both Cemre and Pamuk.
