Last Valentine’s Day, Jaelle heard strange noises from her backyard and found an orange tabby cat scratching at her door, begging to be let in.
Janelle, a foster volunteer with a kitten rescue in Quebec, immediately took the cat in and sent a photo to the rescue’s founder, Marie Simard.
Despite the rescue not taking adult cats, Simard was moved by the cat’s picture and instructed Jaelle to take the cat to a partner clinic.
The cat was found to be covered in bite wounds, fleas, ticks, and suffering from frostbite, rotten teeth, and diabetes.
He was given medical treatment and love at the clinic, where he was named Aslan after the lion in “The Chronicles of Narnia” series. Aslan then moved to a foster home where he received care and love from his new foster mom.
