In 2012, a beautiful three-legged orange cat named Bubby roamed the streets of Grand Falls-Windsor, Canada. He suddenly found himself in the kitchen of a Boyd Abbott home and decided to stay. Mr. Abbott immediately bonded with the cat. Since then, Bubby would show up at the same place every day and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Meet Bubby, a cute three-legged cat.
The stray cat had lost its left front leg and part of its tail. This did not bother his human friend, whose love and affection he immediately won over. From that day on, he would enter his home through the kitchen and make Boyd’s home like his own. Another house cat named Season has become Bubby’s best friend.
Season, Bubby’s best friend.
Although Bubby doesn’t particularly like being indoors, he frequently approaches his best friend’s quarters and they would have wonderful adventures outdoors. Suddenly, Season has passed away.
Bubby continued to visit Mr. Abbott’s home regularly and all family members showed him love and took good care of him. One unfortunate day, Boyd Abbott passed away. His only wish was for the family to continue caring for Bubby. Although they tried their best, it didn’t work out and Bubby disappeared. Since then, nothing more has been heard from him.
Bubby did not like the indoors much.
In 2019, many years later, Ray Pinset, a man who lived in Boyd Abbott’s neighborhood, recognized Bubby the cat was seen roaming the streets nearby. He remembered the special bond the cat has shared with his human friend and his family years ago. Although Bubby looks older and weaker after years on the streets.
He became more aggressive but needed urgent medical attention. One day, Ray tried to find him and wanted to take him home, but after several attempts, the cat always avoided him.
After so many years of absence, Bubby was seen again roaming the streets near Boyd’s home.
When the harsh Canadian winter arrived, Ray worried that Bubby wouldn’t withstand the weather. He decided to visit old Abbott’s house, which now had a new owner, and asked if they knew the cat that lived with the former owners of the house.
The new owner knew Bubby and saw him from time to time, but paid him no attention. Ray asked the owner to give him a call once Bubby shows up again on her doorstep.
Bubby was once again seen sitting in the kitchen where he once met Boyd Abbott.
The next day, the owner called Ray and told him the cat was in her kitchen. Ray picked up the cat and took her to Exploits Valley SPCA Adoptables, an animal shelter.
While Bubby continued to heal when he was still at the shelter, Boyd Abbott’s daughter came across a post on social media and asked for more information about Bubby.
Boyd Abbott’s daughter read about Bubby on social media.
“She came forward and told me Bubby’s story. She cried when she saw him and brought him his favorite dishes,” Sarah said.
Reunited after so many years.
Luckily, the three-legged orange cat named Bubby is healthy and now eats from the dishes he once ate with a family he loved so much. He now has a home. Thanks to the beautiful bond with people, he will never forget it.
Bubby is finally home.
