Season ticket holders pulled their flag from a railing at the University of Miami-Appalachian State University game to catch the cat.
Onlookers were shocked and horrified to see a black and white cat dangling from the upper deck at the Hard Rock Stadium.
The fans below quickly grabbed their American flag that was tied to the railings and held it out to catch the falling cat.
When the cat fell and as the onlookers screamed he was saved by the American flag.
Of course the falling cat knew what to do, he turned his body round while holding out its paws to help slow the fall as he plummeted through the air.
Thankfully he was saved by the flag and a big cheer went up as one of the fans held the cat high in the air to show everybody that he was unharmed.
