Looks like this cat has a new friend to play with and much to the shock of the owner…it’s a snake!
Christina initially thought her cat was playing with its own shadow but when she lifted up the boot she was greeted with something altogether more terrifying.
A cat owner screamed in terror after finding out what its pet was actually playing with, after first thinking it was its shadow.
In the clip, Barley is seen tapping a winter boot with its paw.
“What is it, Barley?” she asks before adding: “Now he’s checking out the boot’s shadow.”
But when Christina lifts up the boot she is left terrified after discovering a snake lurking beneath it.
“It’s a f***ing snake.”
“Back up Barley, back up Barley,” she screams as she flees the room in utter panic.
Luckily the snake was of a common garden variety, and wasn’t venomous.
“This was the first time I’ve had a snake in my home,” Christina said.
Christina confirmed that despite Barley’s epic battle with the home invader, no animals were injured during the making of the video.
